About Course
What to Expect
- Weekly sessions include a 60-minute guided demonstration followed by 30 minutes of in-classroom exercises
Step-by-step instruction on drawing landscapes and figures, including elements like perspective, scale, and anatomy
Practice in using shading, color, and composition to create realistic and expressive artworks
Projects that explore outdoor scenes, urban environments, and various poses and gestures of the human figure
Opportunities for both guided practice and independent creative exploration
Constructive feedback to help students improve their technique and artistic vision
A supportive environment encouraging experimentation and personal style development
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
Accurately draw and paint landscapes using principles of perspective and composition
Understand and apply basic human anatomy and proportions in figure drawing
Use light, shadow, and color to add depth and emotion to their artwork
Develop observational skills to capture details and movement in both nature and people
Gain confidence in combining technical skill with creative expression
Build a portfolio of landscape and figure art to showcase their growth and style
Materials Needed
Students should come prepared with basic art supplies, including watercolors, acrylic paints, pencils, and ink pens.
Other materials such as sketchbooks, erasers, brushes, and palette paper are also recommended to support their creative process.
