New Class for Grade 4 and up students
Young artists will learn the fundamentals of animation
Use drawing software such as practice using tools in Procreate to animate
They are guided step by step and have the remaining class to socialize with others.
Topics include: Nature, animals, plants, food..
Learning Outcomes:
– Understand of the basic animation principles
– Setting up workspace on Procreate for creating animation
– Learn to use different tools in Procreate
– Practice following instruction
– Exercise creative thinking skills

– An iPad
– Procreate App ($9.99 USD)
Procreate is only available on the Ipad. An alternative for Android users would be the app Fliapclip. This app comes with a free version. It’s recommended for learners to purchase the full version to avoid popups ($4.99).
– A stylus with a pointed tip

Class structure:
– Learners check-in
– Introduction to one of the animation principle
– Step by step demonstration and learners create along
– Self directed working time, learners troubleshoot with teacher and socialize
– Sharing of artwork

During the draw along, learners are welcome to hold up their animation to the camera for gentle feedback. They are also encouraged to ask questions throughout the lesson through the microphone or chatbox. For classes of more than 3 learners, everyone’s microphone will be muted during instruction to avoid background noise. Learners will be asked to raise their hand before speaking.
