Reading Town o/a Duke College in Markham, North York, Mississauga is a supplementary learning organization offering affordable, personalized programs in reading, writing,  and math for students from K-12. Our instructors aim to help students hone their  

language skills and become confident readers and writers. A teacher-student ratio of 1  to 4 ensures that teachers are highly attentive to each student’s particular needs. 

Programs run after school, online or in-person, and during summer months. 

Program Details
Reading Club (Gr. 2-12, 12sessions/level – 1-1 ½  hours) * • Completion of weekly book report(s), presentation of oral  summary • Vocabulary, basic grammar, reading comprehension  activities. • Follow-up testing on class work in computer lab
Jump Start Course (Gr. K-1, 12sessions/level – 1-1 ½ hours) * • Exercises focusing on phonics, sentence formation, book  reading, reading comprehension
Literary Classics (8 sessions – 1 ½ hours, 8 sessions– 2 hours) • Teacher-led analysis/discussion of classic texts • Completion of comprehension exercises, and literary essay  writing activities
Academic Writing (12session/level – 1 ½ hours, 8sessions/level – 2 hours) * • Classes focused on principles of clear and effective writing  for intermediate students. • Lessons dedicated to essay writing for advanced students
Grammar Studies (12sessions/level – 1 hour) • In-depth grammar lessons for intermediate students
Math (MGL) (Gr. 4-12, 20sessions – 1-1.5 hours) • Instructorsreview and provide assistance with math  schoolwork
Elementary French (Gr. 4-7, 12sessions/level – 1 hour) • Classes devoted to vocabulary building, grammar, reading,  and usage. • Bi-weekly spelling tests
Public Speaking (Gr. 5-12, 10 sessions/level – 2 hour) • Classes devoted to presentation skills in the different  situations and conversation, interviewing English
IELTS/SAT/SSAT/TOEFL/COPE/CELPIP Test Preparation (10-24 sessions – 2 hours)

*A Reading Level Assessment is required prior to registration. Registration fee is
